What does holistic rehab mean?

A holistic rehab approach, supports and treats the whole person versus just their mental health disorder. Holistic health care providers believe that an individual is made up of different parts including physical, emotional, environmental, and spiritual aspects. The goal is to improve health and wellness through the mind, body and soul. 

Divinity’s holistic rehab approach:

At Divinity Recovery, we want to give our clients the best possible chance at gaining and maintaining mental wellness. The core principles in guiding holistic health care is that mental, physical and emotional well being play essential roles in overall health. This is why we combine traditional therapy and evidence based practices in combination with a holistic approach. By blending holistic methods into the larger treatment plan we are able improve the outcome. 

We look at a number of different approaches to helping each individual client, lack of sleep, poor diet and emotional stress are all obstacles we want to help our clients overcome.

Yoga: Yoga practice is one that incorporates physical, mental, and spiritual health all into one big bundle of joy. Some of the benefits of yoga is gaining flexibility, increase in balance and confidence. We offer yoga groups to help our clients improve overall well being. 

Guided Meditation: We offer guided meditation groups as a means to help our clients manage stress, increase focus and mental clarity, among other benefits.

Nutrition:  We have a functional medicine nutritionist on staff that meets with our clients twice a week in a group setting and individually. Our nutritionist offers 1-1 medical nutrition therapy and meal plans for clients depending on their needs. 

Sound bath: A form of meditation, sound baths are intended guide you into a deep meditative state. Benefits are stress management and improvement for overall wellbeing. We provide them weekly as part of our programming. 

Spirituality: We provide spiritual groups to help enhance the connection between mind and body. At Divinity Recovery we believe its important to nurture the spirit when using a holistic approach to mental health treatment.

Adventure therapy: Helping promote a healthy lifestyle and use challenging activities to aid in the therapeutic healing process.
